The IT Systems Administrator reports to the IT Operations Team Leader and is responsible for providing a high level of technical support and management of core infrastructure, systems and server technologies within K&S. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a proactive mindset, and a commitment to delivering reliable IT services.
Responsibilities
* Ensuring the ongoing stability and reliability of all WinTel-based systems.
* Maintaining and implementing new or upgraded systems, including disaster recovery.
* Overseeing all server management.
* Assisting in strategy and planning, risk management and change management, license compliance, vendor relationships, ICT governance, infrastructure and enterprise software support.
* Writing scripts, packaging applications, and actioning all 3rd-level escalations.
* Ensuring relevant knowledge base and process documentation is available for all IT staff.
* Helping to identify and develop technology and infrastructure cost reduction activities and support services improvements.
* Overseeing the backup architecture and applying operating system updates, patches and configuration changes.
* Analyzing system logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems.
* Maintaining superior knowledge of AD, Exchange, group policy, SQL, ISA and Terminal Services.
Qualifications & Success Profile
* MCSE / MCSA / MCITP equivalent certification.
* ITIL certification.
* Advanced expertise in systems configuration and troubleshooting within a Microsoft WAN on-premises.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for multi-platform fault diagnosis.
* Broad working experience with brand name hardware platforms.
* Maintaining a large multi-site, multi-domain systems infrastructure.
* Sound understanding of multiple domain concepts, including Exchange integrations and Active Directory implementations.
* Thorough understanding of antivirus (SentinelOne) and backup (Veeam) methodologies at an enterprise level.
* Experience with Microsoft enterprise products: Exchange, SQL, ISA, Terminal Services, VMware / Hyper-V Virtualisation, WSUS, System Centre Operations Manager.
* Extensive experience with DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
* Expertise in IP telephony, specifically FortiGate environments.
* Implementation and maintenance of a DR environment in Azure.
* Experience with mass storage devices, specifically SANs (NetApp).
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
