The Batavia Coast Miniature Railway Society Incorporated (BCMRSI) is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation providing an affordable and fun family attraction for the Geraldton community. They share a passion for steam, diesel, and electric miniature railways, promote community involvement, and support local tourism. They welcome volunteers of all ages and skill levels who are interested in helping operate, maintain, and grow a unique and sustainable community attraction. No prior railway experience required, just enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved. There are a range of roles you can choose from!
Responsibilities / Roles

* Gate control - entry & exit
* Station Master
* Train driver and guard
* Signal Operator
* Opening & Closing duties (eg placement & removal and storage of banners, signs, etc)
Requirements
Having sufficient volunteers on run days supports the safe and smooth operation of the railway. Volunteers assist patrons on and off carriages, help supervise activities, and engage positively with both children and adults.
A well-supported volunteer team allows for better interaction with the community, improves the visitor experience, and ensures the efficient delivery of services.

Time Required
Mini Rail run days are held on the first Sunday of each month from 9am - 12pm during summer and 10am-1pm during cooler months. Volunteers would need to start 30 mins earlier and stay 30 mins later on these days.
