Maxima are currently seeking Expressions of Interest to undertake a First Nations Carer Traineeship.
The Carer Trainee Program is a fantastic way to earn while you learn. This exciting 12-month program includes undertaking a Certificate III in Individual Support - Ageing while gaining on-the-job experience, caring for Elders and employment in a rapidly growing industry.
When you complete your 12-month Traineeship you will be awarded your CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support - Ageing qualification and are eligible for work as a qualified Carer.
These positions are located in Toowoomba.

About the Role:
As a Carer Trainee, you will deliver high quality care to residents, ensuring the highest standard of safe, quality care and support is provided.
Under the guidance of experienced mentors, your responsibilities will include:
* Assist residents in a range of tasks including:
o Personal care (showering, toileting, grooming, hygiene)
o Social support (encourage social interaction and interest of hobbies)
* Support the movement and transport of residents with mobility devices
* Assist in the evaluation of the resident’s progress and needs
* Communicate resident’s health, well-being, and progress to supervisor
* Respect and maintain resident confidentiality
* Complete records and documentation as required
About You:
To be successful in this traineeship, you’ll need:
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Compassionate and nurturing personality
* Ability to build rapport with a variety of people
* Commitment to providing exceptional resident care
* Can prioritise time and tasks effectively
* Ability to adapt to change and manage workloads
Eligibility Criteria:
* National Police Clearance (or willing to obtain)
* Relevant vaccinations (or willing to obtain)
* Satisfactorily pass a pre-employment assessment including a drug and alcohol test
* Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
