* These roles are Zone based and assigned to Zone offices that are in the following locations across NSW: Rhodes, Metford, Lismore/Goonellabah, Goulburn, Dubbo, Tamworth and Wagga Wagga. Successful applicants will be offered location assignment as role locations become available.
* Attractive total remuneration package of up to $124,992.18 + 15% field allowance
About the opportunity
This is a newly created ongoing role within the Zone Operations Team in each Zone. This role will be responsible for supporting all functions relating to operational response, pre-incident planning and operational capability to appropriately respond to flood rescues and the other combat roles of the NSW SES.
The role will focus on increasing flood rescue incident management capability and capacity through the facilitation of training, exercising, and skills maintenance activities while contributing to the development of pre-incident plans and the implementing of procedures, analysing flood rescue risk and liaising with support agencies to ensure strategic coordination of flood rescues and operational response functions.
This role will be required to participate in on call rosters or shifts based on predicted impacts to mitigate risk posed by weather forecasts, support activities or operational response deployments to assure the operational readiness and response capability of the NSW SES. There may be some travel associated with the role to support operations across NSW.

About you
To be successful in this role you will:
* be able to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of emergency management arrangements, the NSW SES' legislated role and the AIIMS principles and processes;
* have experience in coordination of flood rescue or other time critical incident responses;
* have experience working in Incident Management Teams during emergency situations;
* hold the qualification of Enterprise Trainer and Assessor Skill Sets TAESS00015 (or equivalent/higher) or commitment to obtain this qualification within 12 months if not already held;
* have experience designing and delivering operational exercises in an emergency management context;
* have the ability to remain calm in high pressure situations that involve life critical tasks;
* be willing to work out of hours, on-call and on operational rosters on 24/7 basis (including weekends and out of core business hours);
* hold a current Driver's Licence and/or the ability to travel throughout NSW.
