Meat Department Supervisor
The Meat Department Supervisor plays a crucial role in the daily operations of the meat department. This involves supervising and participating in the daily tasks, supporting the management team in promoting productivity, coordinating employee lunches and breaks, reviewing employees, carrying out new programs, and addressing member issues.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develops, coaches, counsels, and directs meat department personnel to promote teamwork and accountability among employees.
* Leads, provides training, encouragement, advice, and feedback to meat department employees.
* Upholds and teaches Costco meat department policies and procedures.
* Determines production requirements and checks the quality and consistency of finished merchandise.
* Oversees merchandise presentation and merchandising.
* Carries out and ensures employee participation in the meat manager's plan for sales and merchandising.
* Participates in meat cutting and follows sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOP) guidelines.
* Reviews sanitation logs and checks for health code compliance.
* Assists with physical inventory periodically and performs routine maintenance for machinery and equipment.
* Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and vendors.
