About Our Client
Our client is a major mining operator committed to operational excellence, project delivery and maintaining safe, efficient and sustainable operations. As part of their site-based projects team, you will play a critical role in delivering capital improvements, engineering modifications and infrastructure upgrades that support the long-term performance of the asset.
What You Will Be Doing
Managing the planning, safe execution and commissioning of approved Modifications and Small Projects (up to US$20M)Delivering work on scope, schedule, cost and safety targetsSupporting 2-year and 5-year capital portfolio planning by preparing and validating opportunity assessmentsPrioritising projects in line with corporate alignment processesLeading and managing owners team contractors in line with the BHP project frameworkPreparing designs, specifications, costings, scopes and evaluation reports for plant, equipment and infrastructure modificationsEngaging with internal departments, operations, suppliers, vendors and contractorsInvestigating and implementing initiatives to improve safety, productivity and cost efficiencyLeading construction and commissioning activities and managing associated risksEnsuring Safety, Constructability, Operability and Maintainability requirements are upheld throughout the project lifecycle
What You Will Need
Strong project management capability with demonstrated experience delivering engineering projectsTertiary qualifications preferred, ideally in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical EngineeringBackground in Civil Engineering highly advantageousExperience leading workgroups and contractorsExperience in project development and front-end loadingStrong analytical, problem-solving and communication skillsPrevious project management experience within mining or heavy industryAbility to work autonomously, remain resilient and deliver resultsAbility to work in a QLD Coal Mine: Standard 11 + Coal Board MedicalQLD Coal Supervisor competencies (S1, S2, S3)RIIRIS402D Facilitate Risk Management (G2)
