About the role
We are seeking a contractor to manage the operations of a camp kitchen during a major property development project. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth delivery of meals and maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety for our team on-site.
Contract details
* Start Date: mid-March 2026
* Duration: 12–18 months (while property development and infrastructure construction are underway)
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will work closely with the Aggregation Manager and Administration Officer and will have full oversight of the camp kitchen. You will be responsible to:
* Source and manage food supplies and kitchen essentials within budget, to meet quality standards and reduce waste.
* Prepare and serve three meals daily for up to 40 people (average 20-25), including a hot breakfast and dinner meal each day. This property operates seven days a week. Flexible rostering arrangements will be considered.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen and dining areas, ensuring compliance with food safety legislation and regulations. Oversee kitchen equipment maintenance and report any issues promptly.
* Implement and adhere to RFM's health and safety protocols.
* Ensure compliance registers, inspections and records are accurately maintained as required.
Requirements
We're seeking enthusiastic contractors who thrive in an active, hands-on environment. To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
* Current Food Safety Certification, relevant licenses and insurances.
* Proven experience in camp kitchen management or similar roles.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage procurement, cooking, and cleaning tasks efficiently.
* Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
