Our Opportunity
We are currently looking for a Maintenance Fitter / Engineer to join our dedicated team at GF Darwin. Reporting to the Reliability Team Leader, you will provide high quality maintenance and repairs to equipment throughout the plant, with a strong emphasis on improving the operational effectiveness of the site.
Shift pattern: Day Shift
Tues 10:00am - 6:00pm, Wed 8:00am-4:00pm, Thurs 8:00am-4:00pm, Fri 10:00am-6:00pm, Sat 6:00am-2:00pm
Key Accountabilities Of The Role Include
Undertake scheduled planned maintenance tasks including planned activitiesAttend and resolve unplanned maintenance tasks including breakdownsEnsure machinery and plant is maintained to ensure optimum performancePerform general mechanical, motor and conveyor repairsMaintain all site engineering documentation and plant logs, ensuring accuracy and up to date information is available at all times.Drive factory quality and SHE standards to ensure and demonstrate continued and sustainable improvement in safety for the siteAssist in preparing site when required for external and regulatory auditsAssist the Engineering Manager to manage all mechanical and electrical control hazards on the hazard register to ensure they are closed out within agreed timeframesEnsure all breakdowns are communicated to the Engineering ManagerEnsure all PM work is completed and compliant in the CMMSProvide timely and complete reports to the Engineering Manager as required
The Successful Applicant Will Have
Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Machine/WeldingGMP and food safety understandingStrong root cause analysis for timely breakdown resolutionsHS&E knowledge, including machinery guardingExperience in Food and FMCG manufacturing (desirable)Experienced fitter (Conveyor belts, motors, sprockets, bearing, gears and pneumatics)
