Offer description

Release and Environment Lead12 month contract
Contract opportunity for a Release and Environment Lead to maintain the integrity of enterprise pre-production environments across public and private clouds.
You will bridge the gap between development and operations, ensuring multiple high-priority projects can build, test, and go-live simultaneously without friction.
Our client is looking for a process-driven lead who thrives on streamlining release pipelines and collaborating with cross-functional experts.
What You Will Do:
Establish and maintain the release and environment strategy, including configuration standards, access controls, and data refresh cycles.
Develop a comprehensive release calendar and facilitate critical readiness reviews and Go/No-Go meetings to ensure alignment across all IT projects.
Partner with DevOps teams to automate and enhance CI/CD pipelines while enforcing best practices and version control standards.
Validate that all pre-production environments meet technical prerequisites, such as code versions and data integrity, before testing or deployment begins.
Serve as the central point of contact for release status, managing risks, mitigation strategies, and rollback plans to ensure seamless transitions.
What You Need to Apply for This Role:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related technical field.
At least 5 years of experience in software release management, IT project delivery, or working within DevOps environments.
Understanding of software development lifecycles, including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
Hands-on experience with version control systems (like Git) and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or Bamboo.
Experience with ITIL processes, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes) are highly regarded.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, solve complex problems, and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
