* Excellent team environment
* Interesting Corporate/Commercial Work
Burgess Paluch has had substantial success recruiting for this global company with strong Australian presence over the past few years. We have a new role for a 3-6 year lawyer to join the growing friendly and dynamic team.
Our client is a premier international company with offices around the world and thousands of staff in Australia. The company operates in the commercial, supplies, services, and resources spaces and assists Australians throughout Australia. The company has specifically advised that it is interested in transactional commercial and corporate lawyers who are commercially minded, but you must have a top-tier or mid-tier background to join a team comprised of other high calibre lawyers. This is a diverse, interesting and challenging in-house legal role. With a positive outlook, this role will appeal to a capable commercial lawyer looking for an in-house counsel role in which they can enjoy assisting with broad commercial matters, the negotiation and development and management of legal functions and commercial and procurement contracts.
This role is broad and will provide substantial responsibility and opportunity. You will work alongside a highly respected and down to earth ex-top tier Senior General Counsel. The business requires substantial legal/advice work and this role will involve ongoing work on complex local and international commercial and contracts and agreements. You will be involved in managing relationships with stakeholders and suppliers. There will also be the opportunity to utilise other broad legal skill sets.
Commercial work will include exciting high level contract negotiation and drafting, deals involving importing materials, procurement, intellectual property work, and building AI and digital capabilities (low value work is briefed out externally).
You will enjoy applying your commercial acumen as well as your technical skills in this legal role. With the chance to work on complex and significant contracts and projects, and with excellent support systems on offer this is a rare opportunity in the market. You will possess a minimum of 3 years (and no more than about 7 years) experience working in the commercial legal field, either in-house or for a strong law firm.
