The Opportunity
We are seeking a Registered Building Practitioner – Mechanical (VBA) to join our growing team in a full-time role. This position is suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys hands-on project involvement, leadership responsibility, and contributing to a collaborative consultancy environment.
You will play a key role in delivering compliant, buildable mechanical designs while working closely with clients, architects and contractors across a diverse portfolio of projects.
Key Responsibilities
Design and document HVAC systems in accordance with NCC and relevant AS/NZS standards
Review and sign off mechanical designs as a Registered Practitioner (Mechanical)
Liaise with architects, builders and consultants to ensure coordinated design outcomes
Prepare mechanical reports, calculations and specifications
Participate in design meetings and conduct site inspections during construction
Mentor junior engineers within the team
Provide hydraulic design input where required
Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Registered Building Practitioner (Mechanical) – (mandatory)
Minimum 5 years' experience in building services mechanical design
Strong understanding of NCC, Section J, AS1668, AS/NZS 3666, AS/NZS 3500
Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Practical, detail-oriented and solution-focused
