Hays has partnered with a leading organisation delivering essential water infrastructure projects across Southeast Queensland. This team has long-standing partnerships with major water utility organisations across Brisbane, focused on innovation, collaboration, sustainability, and community outcomes.
Your New RoleAs a Safety Advisor, you will play a critical role in driving health, safety, and environmental excellence across projects. This position offers a mix of office-based work and site visits, providing variety and engagement in your day-to-day responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coach and mentor Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors, and Delivery Partners to embed a proactive safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and legislative requirements across all activities.
- Conduct observations, site inspections, and audits.
- Investigate incidents, injuries, and environmental breaches.
- Manage incident reporting within internal and client systems.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Certificate IV in OHS/WHS (minimum requirement).
- Previous experience as a Health & Safety Advisor, ideally within utilities, civil, or construction sectors.
- Familiarity with Health, Safety & Environment management systems.
- Strong communication and coaching skills with the ability to influence and drive cultural change.
- Degree qualification in OHS/WHS and ICAM Lead Investigator/Auditing experience (advantageous but not essential).
