Your Role at St John of God Subiaco Hospital The Catering Supervisor is responsible for the distribution of all patient meals and the efficient supervision and operation of the Catering Department, including supervision of caregivers rosters and providing advice to the Manager concerning operation efficiencies of the daily activities. The Position Inform management of caregiver work related behaviour. Attend distribution caregiver's performance appraisal interviews. Complete performance appraisal interviews. Document clearly and concisely comments made at performance appraisal interviews. Monitor and review caregivers after the interview. Follow-up all complaints or problems regarding the service to patients. Ensure all distribution caregivers are completing assigned tasks on time. Ensure caregivers are maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in their work area. Ensure caregivers are working according to their job descriptions and meeting the time requirements. Take responsibility for the dining room caregivers by: Ensuring the standard of service is maintained. Answering any queries. Attending to any customer complaints. Identifying when assistance may be needed. In the absence of the Head Chef take responsibility for the Catering Attendants by: Ensuring job descriptions are being followed. Assigning additional cleaning duties if they have free time. Attending to any work related problems they may be experiencing. All caregivers involved in the service of meals on the tray assembly belt are answerable to the Food Service Supervisor at this time. You will have supervisor qualifications from a relevant training body or substantial previous experience in a management role, with an understanding of and ability to apply occupational health and safety principles to ensure own safety and that of others in the workplace, and, food handling experience with demonstrated knowledge of food hygiene regulations. To succeed you will possess sound supervisory skills, including the ability to provide clear advice, direction and appropriate feedback to team members with negotiation and conflict resolution skills, including the ability to deal with difficult people. You will have developed organizational skills, including the ability to achieve agreed targets and timelines. Using a high level of customer service skills including flexibility, tact and diplomacy, you will demonstrate interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with Executive, Managers, Caregivers, the public and other external stakeholders in a courteous manner. We can offer you Salary : $64,362 to $65,503 (pro rata for part time), plus 11% superannuation A permanent Part Time position, working 75 hours a fortnight.
