What you'll be doing
As the IMS+ Officer, you will be the primary contact for our Incident Information Management System (IIMS), ensuring the system is maintained, well‑utilised and supports high‑quality decision making across the district. You will provide expert advice, advanced data management, help desk support, and strategic reporting to enable patient safety and clinical quality improvements.
In this role, you will:
* Collate, analyse and report on incident data to support clinicians, senior managers and the Clinical Governance Unit
* Lead the administration, optimisation and continuous improvement of the IIMS application
* Provide specialist advice on clinical risk, data quality and system performance
* Develop and maintain reporting tools to support accreditation, safety and quality monitoring
* Build collaborative partnerships across WSLHD to support education, planning and performance initiatives
* Troubleshoot system, software and network issues using internal and external support channels
* Assist with the management of quality audit and death review databases

* Demonstrated understanding, skills, and experience in health information management and use of information systems including managing and reporting on large volumes of information in a timely and efficient manner.
* Demonstrated ability to undertake high level clinical investigations with designated time frames
* Proven ability to provide advice to managers, particularly in relation to use and development of clinical information data collection systems and data analysis
* Demonstrated ability to prioritise work within an environment of competing demands, to problem solve and provide strategies, to deliver timely outcomes and meet reporting deadlines
* Demonstrated experience working in a large and complex health service organisation at a senior level with demonstrated knowledge of legislative requirements and operating requirements
* Demonstrated experience in the use of IIMs or similar incident information system and the ability to analyse, monitor and report incidents.
* Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills including both excellent written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated experience in the preparation of reports, briefs or educational materials
* Proven ability regarding information technology and systems, including office systems such as work processing and spreadsheet packages with knowledge in Microsoft products such as Excel, PowerPoint etc.
