Pet Chemist is a team of pet lovers dedicated to providing the best online experience for pet owners to easily source pet healthcare products.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Stock Controller to oversee inventory accuracy, stock integrity, and warehouse stock processes. This role is responsible for coordinating structured stock control activities including receiving stock, rolling stock takes, stock rotation, and location management.
The Stock Controller works closely with the Inventory Assistant on stock levels and issue resolution, as well as the Operations Coordinator to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance standards are consistently met across the warehouse.
This role is critical to maintaining inventory accuracy, minimising stock loss, and supporting smooth warehouse and customer service operations.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Control & Accuracy
* Maintain accurate inventory records across all systems.
* Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, variances, and system errors.
* Monitor stock movements to ensure accuracy between physical and system stock.
* Identify and escalate recurring stock integrity issues.
2. Rolling Stocktakes & Audits
* Plan and coordinate rolling stocktakes to maintain high inventory accuracy.
* Coordinate rolling and full stock takes as required.
* Analyse discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
* Ensure proper documentation and reporting of stocktake results.
* Continuously improve stock counting processes and controls.
3. Stock Location & Warehouse Organisation
* Maintain accurate and logical stock location systems.
* Oversee bin location accuracy and correct misplacements.
* Coordinate restocking shelves to optimise picking efficiency.
* Ensure clear labelling and warehouse layout consistency.
* Support warehouse layout improvements to enhance workflow.
4. Stock Rotation & Product Integrity
* Ensure proper stock rotation practices in line with FIFO best practice
* Monitor expiry dates and manage short-dated stock proactively.
* Coordinate removal or return of damaged, expired, or non-compliant stock.
* Support initiatives to reduce stock wastage and obsolescence.
5. Safety & Operational Efficiency
* Work alongside the Operations Coordinator to uphold safety standards.
* Ensure stock handling procedures align with WHS requirements.
* Identify operational inefficiencies related to stock movement and storage.
* Support process improvements to increase warehouse productivity.
* Promote safe manual handling and storage practices.

* Very high attention to detail and be able to work to a deadline
* The candidate must be fit and able to list up to 20kg.
