The Opportunity
The main duties and obligations of this role entail conducting metal fabrication repairs and maintenance, encompassing the fabrication of plant and equipment related to the Council's diverse operations. This position involves designing, developing, and fabricating metal works tailored to their intended use, as well as installing and removing metal assets as necessary. Additionally, the role collaborates as a team member within the Workshop when needed.
To be successful, you will demonstrate personal attributes that are consistent with Councils values of Integrity, People Focused, Excellence and Sustainability and you will possess the following:
Skills and Qualifications:
* Working at Heights Competency, or willingness to obtain;
* Current Confined Space Entry Certificate or willingness to obtain;
* Forklift Licence, or willingness to obtain;
* Proficiency in the safe use of hand and power tools and welding equipment;
* Sound communication skills including the ability to interpret drawings and schematics;
* Proven ability to provide trade guidance and assistance as part of a work team;
* Sound working knowledge of health and safety as it relates to this work area;
* Basic computer skills;
* Sound knowledge of Work Health and Safety requirements in a workshop environment.
* Recognised trade certificate/Certificate III as Fabricator/Welder, Boilermaker or related field with relevant experience (Mandatory); and
* Current Queensland ‘HR’ Class licence or willingness to obtain;

General Salary Information
Stream C Level 8TDC $66,979 per annum plus superannuation.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Pre-employment screening includes Medicals, Drug and Alcohol Testing, and Criminal History Checks to ensure capability to perform the inherent requirements of the role.
