The role of a mechanical design engineer entails end-to-end responsibility for the development of advanced high-frequency RF products.
Key responsibilities include creating detailed 3D CAD models, selecting suitable materials and manufacturing methods, and performing thermal and structural analysis to ensure designs meet rigorous performance, reliability, and environmental requirements.
Mechanical Design & Development
This involves working collaboratively with RF, electronics, process, systems, and manufacturing engineers during concept development, prototype builds, testing, and validation phases.
An essential aspect of this role is designing precision mechanical components and assemblies for RF modules, including housings, hermetic packages, heatsinks, waveguide structures, and test fixtures.
Detailed 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings must be created to support these designs.
It is crucial that these designs adhere to stringent RF, thermal, mechanical, and environmental specifications (EMI shielding, stiffness, tolerancing, CTE matching, vibration, IP rating).
