First established in 1976, JC Butko Engineering is now a leading Design, Fabrication and Installation provider of Mild and Stainless Steel solutions to many of Australia’s most recognised companies.
Due to our continued growth and current projects, the opportunity exists for a highly motivated candidate to join our existing CNC Plate Processing Team.
Your role entails working alongside Project Managers within the business to provide estimating and programming / nesting services to support the requirements of our fabrication business.
There is also the opportunity to liaise directly with external customers from quoting of customer supplied drawings / CAD files through to the delivery of processed plates to meet their needs.
The equipment you would be working with is our 6x2m CNC Laser and 3x1.5m Waterjet Cutter.
This role is based in Albury Wodonga with an immediate start.
Role
In the role of CNC Laser Estimator / Scheduler your main duties and responsibilities include:
Responsibilities
- Provide estimating and programming / nesting services using industry standard software
- Prepare, track & submit cutting costs to the Accounts Department for uploading into job costing system
- Process and schedule orders
- Provide order status updates
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of plates / sheets (stainless, mild steel, aluminum)
- Obtaining quotes and placing orders for material, spare parts, equipment
- Monitor and schedule routine maintenance on laser / waterjet equipment to prevent unplanned downtime and support efficient cutting and high quality output
- Managing timelines to ensure projects & clients receive materials on time
- Assist Project Managers and external clients as required
Qualifications
- Previous CNC laser programming and cutting experience (Essential)
- Previous quoting / estimating experience with laser cutting software (Essential – specific software package not critical)
- Sound computer skills and experience with MS Office
- CAD drawing or interpretation experience / knowledge - advantageous
- Ability to work well within a team and provide direction/assistance to those around you
- Accountable for clear communication to others in team/business, to support effective scheduling and cutting of materials in a fast paced / fluid fabrication environment
- Ability to manage and prioritise works to support the fabrication needs of business, as well as expectations of clients and project managers.
- Professional and courteous attitude
- Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment, desirable but not essential
- Strong communication skills as you will be constantly liaising directly with clients, sub-contractors, suppliers and all levels of staff.
- Flexible person who is prepared to take on a wide variety of tasks with a high level of enthusiasm and passion
