Join Cement Australia as a Sustainability and Environment Advisor at our Darra headquarters and lead impactful environmental initiatives across our operations. This is a pivotal role within our Safety and Sustainability team, where you'll shape and deliver our Group Sustainability Plan, support cross-functional initiatives, and make a real impact on our environmental performance and compliance.
This role will see you:
* Provide support to the Principal Sustainability and Environment Specialist assisting with the implementation of the Group Environment and Sustainability Strategy.
* Ensure environmental risks (aspects and impacts) are identified, maintained, controlled and are effective within a register.
* Administer all relevant external and Internal environment and sustainability reporting requirements to schedule.
* Administer relevant safety and sustainability events in CA Safety database (Donesafe).
* Coordinate internal environmental projects and contribute to external regulatory reporting
* Monitor environmental compliance and help drive continual improvement
* Collaborate across business units to support sustainability initiatives and reporting
* Contribute to the development of procedures and environmental documentation
* Support and coordinate internal audits, compliance registers, and environmental system improvements
* Identify and support the delivery of environmental training aligned to SHEQMS requirements
What You'll Bring
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:
* Minimum 2 years' experience in sustainability or environmental roles within heavy industry or mining
* Strong understanding of ISO 14001, ISO 9001, ISO 45001 management systems
* Working knowledge of NGERs and NPI reporting requirements
* Demonstrated experience in compliance auditing, data analysis and report writing
* A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Geography, or Environmental Engineering (mandatory)
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* The ability to interpret environmental legislation and apply it practically across diverse sites
* A passion for sustainable practices and continual improvement
