Job Description:
We're looking for a Graduate Economist to join Cotality's Research Division. This team provides independent thought leadership and housing market insights that underpin Cotality's position as a leader in property sector analytics. This is an exciting opportunity for a career‑minded graduate with a passion for the Australian property market and a desire to build a career in property economics. You'll work closely with experienced researchers, supporting data analysis, report writing, and operational tasks that keep our insights accurate and timely.
What You Will Be Doing:
* Maintaining and updating internal and external data sets to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
* Analysing housing and economic trends to create meaningful insights, not just numbers.
* Assisting with report writing and responding to research briefs.
* Proofing/reviewing research team outputs and distributing reports/data to subscribers.
* Collaborating with a small, expert team and learning from industry leaders.
* Using Microsoft Office and document management systems to complete daily tasks.
Qualifications:
What you will bring:
* A minimum bachelor's degree in Economics, Commerce, or a related field.
* Strong analytical skills and confidence working with numbers and large data sets.
* Ability to distil complex data into clear, compelling insights.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills – storytelling comes naturally to you.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other office tools.
* A proactive, self‑starter attitude and comfort working in an autonomous environment.
* Passion for property economics and willingness to learn.
Preferred:
* Any experience working with property data or analysing housing trends.
