PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: In this people-oriented role, you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of HR specialists to lead proactive wellbeing and injury management strategies across the organisation. Your work will help create a safe, healthy, and positive workplace. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Identify, monitor and address workplace issues and trends affecting the organisation, including early intervention, rehabilitation, and return-to-work principles. Provide high level advice to the executive team, managers and staff on the application and interpretation of relevant worker’s compensation legislation, policies and guidelines for managing injured and ill employees. Build manager and staff capability through learning and development activities in a range of wellbeing competencies, including resilience, conflict resolution, effective interpersonal communication skills, and working effectively in teams. Collaborate with managers to implement and review wellbeing resources. Liaise relevant agencies across the broader ACT Government for the ongoing management of the organisation’s compensable and non-compensable cases. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: Strong experience in early intervention, rehabilitation and/or case management practices. Excellent communication skills including liaison, negotiation and presentation skills. In-depth knowledge of the worker’s compensation legislation, policies and guidelines for managing injured and ill employees and how to apply them in real situations. A Certificate IV in Rehabilitation and Case Management or equivalent qualification in a relevant field: e.g. counselling, psychology, social work, would be preferred.
