The Role
The Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) Systems Program Office (SPO) is seeking a highly professional, motivated APS 6 ILS Practitioner to provide high levels of support and subject matter expertise as part of the acquisition and sustainment of AESA systems acquired by the United States Government (USG).The APS 6 ILS Practitioner will be accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex materiel logistics work within an integrated workforce. They will be accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.
They will be accountable for preparing, implementing and maintaining policy, processes and procedures to support the sustainment of equipment in accordance with Defence requirements. This will include the development of materiel logistics strategies and plans that support the objectives of sustainment activities. The APS 6 ILS Practitioner will be expected to be capable of building team capability through coaching, feedback and developing the quality of work undertaken by others within a work unit. They will exercise the associated people and financial responsibilities to achieve work unit outcomes. They will analyse and report upon materiel logistics performance in sustainment and evaluate materiel logistics activities to ensure alignment with sustainment objectives.
The APS 6 ILS Practitioner will have considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex issues. They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders’ needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. This will include communicating materiel logistics objectives through high-level written documents and oral presentations for broad audiences and higher delegate consideration.

Defence - specific training will be provided to the successful candidate to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to undertake the role effectively. A minimum security clearance of Negative Vetting 2 is required for this role.
