Our principal facility since 1981 is on Larrakia Land at Bullocky Point in Darwin, home to internationally renowned cultural and scientific collections and research and exhibition programs.

MAGNT also operates the historic Fannie Bay Gaol in Darwin, the Museum of Central Australia incorporating the Strehlow Research Centre in Alice Springs, Megafauna Central and the Alcoota Fossil Bed site north east of Alice Springs.

MAGNT also manages the historic Lyons Cottage on Darwin's Esplanade and the Defence of Darwin Experience at East Point in Darwin.

MAGNT attracts over 300,000 visitors annually to our sites.

o Selection Criteria 1: A tertiary degree in graphic and/or 3D design and experience coupled with design experience using Vectorworks or related software including Adobe Creative Suite and experience working within a Museum or similar environment. *
o Selection Criteria 2: Experience in designing exhibitions and a creative approach to design solutions across multiple platforms. *
o Selection Criteria 3: Demonstrated experience in designing a wide range of publications including but not limited to; marketing collateral, online communications, event promotion/materials, on-site signage and exhibition displays and labels. *
o Selection Criteria 4: Experience in controlling design and production of print publications including the ability to conceptualise, plan, prepare briefs and specifications, select stock and liaise with printers through all stages of production. *
o Selection Criteria 5: High level organisation skills, sound motivation, initiative and commitment together with a demonstrated ability to manage workloads and prioritise to meet deadlines. *
o Selection Criteria 6: Experience working in and an understanding of the requirements of audiences of cultural institutions, including the ability to monitor and apply corporate style and branding. *
o Selection Criteria 7: An ability to interact effectively with people of different cultures and ensuring work health and safety system and accessibility compliance. *
