About the Role
The role of an Auxiliary Firefighter is to support the prevention, preparation, response, and recovery activities across emergency situations. This includes participating in regular drills and other relevant training courses to develop competencies.
Key Responsibilities
* Respond to fire and other emergency incidents as part of an incident response team.
* Promote community safety and emergency preparedness through public education and awareness campaigns.
* Maintain required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training sessions.
* Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment safely and effectively.
* Contribute to upkeep and maintenance of station facilities and equipment.
* Ensure compliance with legislative, policy, and procedural requirements.
* Communicate effectively with emergency service providers and the general public.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Employer's written consent to participate in emergency incidents.
* Australian Permanent Resident Status.
* Manual C Class driver's licence.
* Attend 50% of calls as a day worker with routine hours or 30% of calls as a shift worker or non-routine hours.
* Attend 75% of regular drill and training sessions.
* Obtain an MRV licence within 12 months of employment.
* Comply with organisational policies and procedures.
* Demonstrate leadership and management skills.
