Overview
A leading Australian multi-division group is undergoing a major finance transformation, building a modern, insight-led Commercial Finance function. This is a rare opportunity to step into a true build role, shaping Group FP&A, planning systems, and performance insight from the ground up.
The role
The FP&A Manager will act as the central planning engine for the Group, owning budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning across a complex multi-entity environment. You will consolidate divisional inputs into a single Group view, ensuring consistency in assumptions, governance, and financial targets, while delivering high-quality insights to support executive and Board-level decision-making.
A key focus of the role is leading the transition from Excel-based planning to a system-enabled, driver-based planning environment, including implementation of a new Group planning and forecasting tool. You will partner closely with Finance Business Partners embedded across the business, who focus on commercial support, while FP&A sets frameworks, standards and Group performance visibility.
Key responsibilities include leading annual budgets and rolling forecasts, developing driver-based financial models, delivering executive reporting and variance analysis, establishing planning governance and cadence and supporting strategic modelling, scenario analysis and investment decisions. You will also lead implementation of the Group planning system, driving adoption, training, and change management across Finance and the broader business.
About you
You are an experienced FP&A or Group Finance professional with strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling capability. You will have exposure to finance transformation or planning system implementation, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and experience working in complex multi-entity or divisional organisations. This is a foundational role where you will define and build Group FP&A capability, lead a major systems and process transformation, and help shift the finance function from reporting-focused to insight-led, commercially driven decision support.
Why This Role
This is a foundational FP&A leadership role where you will:
* Build and define Group planning capability from the ground up
* Lead a major finance systems and process transformation
* Influence executive decision-making and Group strategy
* Move the finance function from reporting-focused to insight-led
* Play a key role in shaping a scalable, modern Commercial Finance function
