As a Management Accountant, you will play an integral role in the University of Melbourne's embedded Finance Business Partnering model, ensuring the integrity of financial data and providing essential support to Finance Business Partners.
You will have the opportunity to manage accounting tasks efficiently, contribute to strategic financial planning, and build trusted business relationships within the University.
This role offers you the chance to enhance your expertise in financial administration and make a significant impact on the University's financial sustainability.
Your responsibilities will include:
Financial Administration: Investigate and resolve financial data issues, ensure accuracy in reporting, and maintain the Chart of Accounts.
Support for Finance Business Partners: Monitor financial performance, contribute to budget development, and collaborate with shared services areas.
Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback to improve systems and processes, and drive corrective actions to minimise transaction errors.
Stakeholder Engagement: Establish effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and support regulatory compliance requirements.
You may be a great fit if
You are a detail-oriented finance professional with advanced Microsoft Office skills, possessing excellent communication abilities, with a growth mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement in a dynamic environment.
You may also
Be a fully qualified CA, CPA, or CIMA, or progressing towards these qualifications.
Have experience in summarising large volumes of financial data using Excel.
Demonstrate strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Possess a growth mindset and a desire to be part of a high-performing team.
Have knowledge of financial planning tools like Workday and Adaptive Planning.

This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check.
This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
