A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Engineer or Project Engineer to join a Tier 1 site team delivering a remote hydro infrastructure project in inland Tasmania. Based at Tarraleah, this role will suit an engineer with strong site-based construction experience who enjoys hands-on delivery in a remote environment.
Your new role
Reporting to the Project Manager and working closely with the construction team on site, you will be responsible for:
* Reading, understanding and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
* Procuring labour, plant and materials required to deliver the works
* Reviewing subcontractor safe work method statements and supporting compliance with safety documentation
* Assisting with the preparation of quality documentation including ITPs, inspection records and test reports
* Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with quality requirements and that all testing and hold points are managed correctly
* Working closely with the site team to resolve clashes and constraints and optimise program outcomes
* Supporting cost and program management to ensure a practical and cost-effective approach to construction and procurement
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
* A degree qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
* Strong stakeholder engagement skill set
* Experienced in Quality Assurance and Procurement
* A minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in a Site Engineer or Project Engineer role within construction
* Strong site-based experience delivering reinforced concrete works
* A sound understanding of safety, quality and construction sequencing
* The ability to work effectively in a remote, rostered site environment
* Strong communication and organisational skills
