INFRASTRUCTURE SYSTEMS ENGINEER Are you a skilled Infrastructure Systems Engineer looking to make an impact in a critical industrial environment? We’re seeking a proactive and technically proficient professional to join GPC’s Process Control Systems (PCS) team, supporting the Industrial Automation and Control Systems (IACS) infrastructure that underpins our world-class port operations. About GPC Gladstone Ports Corporation (GPC) is a Government Owned Corporation responsible for the safe, efficient, and sustainable management of Queensland’s premier multi-commodity port. We play a vital role in supporting economic growth and community development through our infrastructure, people, and partnerships. The Role As an Infrastructure Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the reliability, availability, and integrity of the infrastructure that underpins our Industrial Automation and Control Systems (IACS). This includes supporting the full lifecycle of operational technologies such as control servers, industrial network switches, engineering workstations, SCADA systems, and OT cybersecurity appliances. Your focus will be on sustaining safe, secure, and continuous 24/7 plant operations, ensuring that all infrastructure supporting process control systems performs reliably and complies with engineering and cybersecurity standards. You will work closely with the Specialist Infrastructure Systems Engineer and collaborate across Process Control Systems (PCS), Maintenance, Operations, teams to deliver practical, risk-based solutions that align with both production and operational technology requirements. Key Responsibilities Support the delivery of the PCS business plan, including OPEX and CAPEX projects. Ensure high availability and performance of infrastructure supporting SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, Historian, and vision systems. Monitor, and maintain systems including servers, virtualisation platforms, firewalls, switches, and networking. Contribute to OT / IACS cybersecurity strategies aligned with IEC 62443 and the Purdue Model. Assist in SLACI compliance (Security of Critical Infrastructure). Provide responsive technical support to frontline Electrical & Operations teams. Manage backups, documentation, and network diagrams, and participate in change management processes. What We’re Looking For We are seeking someone with a blend of experience and highly technical capability who thrives in a collaborative, high-performance environment. Essential: Degree in Electrical/Control Systems/Computer Science Engineering or equivalent experience. Strong experience with industrial OT /IACS infrastructure—servers, networks, operational vision systems, backups, storage, and virtualisation. Knowledge of Microsoft, Cisco, Hirschmann, Moxa, and process control environments. Understanding of OT/IACS cybersecurity and industrial networking protocols. C Class Driver’s Licence and ability to obtain MSIC. Highly Regarded: IEC 62443 and ISO 55000 experience. Electrical trade background and OEM-specific qualifications. Project management and change management capability. Experience with tools such as PowerShell, SQL Server, Hyper-V, Veeam, Milestone and SCADA systems.
