Duties Description Greater Binghamton Health Center is recruiting for a Social Work Supervisor 1 LCSW to supervise social work staff and plan, develop, implement, and evaluate social work programs and services. Candidates within State Service can apply.
Responsibilities
* Supervising social work staff
* Diagnosing mental, emotional, behavioral disorders
* Administering and interpreting tests and measures of psychosocial functioning
* Developing and implementing assessment-based treatment plans
* Providing psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic treatmentCompleting required records and documentation
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they are reachable on the current Social Work Supervisor 1 LCSW eligible list.
OR
Candidates within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have 1 year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
OR
Candidates within State Service can be considered for provisional appointment if they have:
* 1 year of permanent service as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker
* 1 year of permanent service as a Licensed Master Social Worker and license and current registration as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New York State
Note: If appointed provisionally, you must take the next scheduled Civil Service examination for this title and your score must be reachable on the resulting eligible list before you can be permanently appointed. If you do not pass the examination or achieve a reachable score, you may not be retained.

In accordance with Section 52.7 of the Civil Service Law, this notice advises all employees of the Office of Mental Health of our intention to conduct a non-competitive promotion examination for the position of Social Work Supervisor 1 LCSW at Greater Binghamton Health Center. Permanent appointment may be made by non-competitive promotion of an applicant who meets the position's minimum qualifications if all requirements of non-competitive promotion are met.
The promotion field for the Social Work Supervisor 1 LCSW position consists of candidates who have 1 year of permanent service as a Licensed Master Social Worker and license and current registration as a LCSW in New York State.
Employees appointed to a non-competitive position via the NY HELPS program to a qualifying title in the non-competitive class will have their names restricted from appointment from the eligible list until their position is covered-in to the competitive class by action of the New York State Civil Service Commission or otherwise obtain permanent competitive status in the position.
If you have received a permanent appointment to a qualifying title listed and served provisionally in that title immediately preceding your permanent appointment, such provisional service may be counted towards meeting the one year time in title required for appointment from the eligible list.
