- Designing and architecting network solutions to meet client requirements.
- Planning and implementing network infrastructure upgrades and expansions.
- Configuring and optimizing network protocols, such as TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, and MPLS.
- Monitoring network performance and availability using network management tools.
- Identifying and resolving network issues, including connectivity, latency, and bandwidth problems.
- Implementing and maintaining network security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
- Installing and configuring network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Performing routine network maintenance tasks, including firmware updates, patch management, and equipment replacement.
- Planning and executing network infrastructure upgrades to enhance performance and security.
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clients for network-related issues.
- Collaborating with clients to understand their networking needs and translating them into actionable plans.
- Maintaining accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
- Leading and managing network-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and successful outcomes.
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network engineering.
- Monitoring and meeting agreed-upon service-level commitments, as defined in the Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Desired Skills and Experience
ESSENTIAL:
- 7 Years+ of IT or equivalent experience - robust background and deep experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructure.
- Proven experience in designing scalable and reliable network architectures that meet client requirements and industry best practices.
- Knowledge and experience in implementing and supporting solutions in Azure, including Microsoft Office 365, Azure AD and SharePoint
- Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMWare, AHV, Hyper-V and KVM
- CCNA, CCNP; NSE4
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with routing protocols, including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, and RIP.
- In-depth knowledge of network security principles and practices, including implementing firewalls, intrusion detection systems, access controls, VPNs, and other security measures.
- Firewalls – FortiGate; Sophos; WatchGuard; Meraki
Expertise in working with a wide range of network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points. Familiarity with various network technologies, protocols, and standards.
