About the Opportunity:
Our client is a well-established and growing consultancy known for its technical excellence, collaborative culture, and commitment to client success. Operating across the property and infrastructure markets, they are seeking an Associate Director to play a pivotal role in their Traffic Engineering team in Sydney. This position offers the chance to lead complex projects, mentor talented professionals, and contribute directly to the firm's strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Team Leadership & Mentoring: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of traffic engineers and consultants, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Provide technical guidance and support to junior and mid-level staff.
* Client Management & Business Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, identify new business opportunities, prepare compelling proposals, and actively contribute to the growth of the traffic engineering portfolio.
* Project Leadership: Lead and manage complex traffic engineering and transport planning projects, including Traffic Impact Assessments (TIAs), parking strategies, road network analysis, transport master planning, and active transport solutions for major property, infrastructure, and urban development projects.
* Technical Excellence: Provide expert technical advice on traffic legislation, transport policy, and best practice engineering principles, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and innovative transport solutions.
About You:
* You possess a relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Transport Engineering, or a related discipline.
* You bring a minimum of 10+ years of experience in traffic engineering and transport consulting, with a significant portion of this gained within a consultancy environment in New South Wales.
* You have demonstrated experience in leading and successfully delivering complex Traffic Impact Assessments (TIAs) for large-scale developments.
* Exceptional leadership, mentoring, and team management skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical issues clearly to diverse audiences.
