About the role
Reporting to the Chef Manager, your role is to cook and create quality and nutritious meals for our residents. You will lead and manage staff and resources efficiently to deliver the highest quality and safety in food services.
Mealtimes are very important to our residents, often a time they look forward to so continuous improvement in the meals we offer is vital. You will need to speak directly to our residents, gaining their feedback and making adjustments.
Duties include:
1. Commercial cooking operations
2. High quantity daily cooking (156 clients)
3. Stock control, preparing menus, adhering to the budget
4. Ensuring high quality presentation of all meals to residents
5. Management of the facility Café
About you:
The ideal candidate will have:
•A Qualification in Commercial Cookery ,Certificate III of Proficiency, or other recognised certification such as armed forces qualifications.
•At least 5 years’ Chef experience post completion of apprenticeship in a large catering or multi-outlet environment.
•Demonstrated application of knowledge of HACCP, FSANZ and NSW Food Authority standards and principles. •Demonstrated ability utilising effective oral and written communications skills. •Demonstrated ability to work effectively unsupervised
