Overview
We are seeking a Process Engineer to join our Unconventional Resources Producing Department (URPD) within Unconventional Resource organization. URPD is responsible for operating and maintaining Unconventional Resources surface facilities, ensuring the safe and efficient production of hydrocarbons. The department plays a critical role in the overall success of the UR program.
The primary role is to provide professional advice and guidance regarding process systems, schemes, equipment, or techniques, facility designs, and solutions to operating and maintenance problems.
Responsibilities
* Provide day‑to‑day technical support to Operations and Maintenance units to troubleshoot and fix process equipment and systems.
* Develop engineering design packages for new installation and upgrade projects, including development of work scopes, calculations, and detailed technical specifications.
* Review project proposals and detailed design packages for new facilities.
* Participate in the testing and commissioning of new facilities and Turnaround and Inspection (T&I).
* Update and maintain engineering documentation and drawings.
* Analyze system performance and find solutions for energy saving.
* Ensure quality, cost‑effective, and timely solutions to any upgrade.
* Test and pilot new technologies. Ensure full HSE compliance.
* Report and analyse key performance indices.
* Make recommendations for technical/economic optimisation of existing facilities.
* Lead feasibility/profitability studies for new facilities and contribute to Business Unit strategy.
* Provide analysis, evaluation, and interpretation in support of projects, processes, and financing related to Saudi Aramco capital investment decisions.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university; a Master's degree is preferred.
* Minimum of 15 years of working experience, including 10 years of experience in industrial operation facilities, with a preference for experience in Shale gas facilities and Modular skids mounted process units.
* Working knowledge of industry codes and standards, such as API and ASME codes.
* Experience with creating/modifying PFDs and P&IDs, troubleshooting process equipment and systems failures, conducting failure analysis and providing recommendations for failed process systems.
* Proficient in process simulation software such as HYSIS, creating schematics and piping diagrams, specifying piping and equipment layout, and dealing with corrosion‑related issues.
* Capable of communicating with multidisciplinary engineers to complete projects and has proven ability to communicate effectively with management at all levels within the organization.
* Able to spot and reconcile conflicting views and interests among different parts of the organization.
* Able to work effectively with minimal supervision on relatively unstructured tasks and is a hands‑on person who will immediately command the professional respect of others who possess long‑time practical experience of working in or serving the industry.
* A Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) license or registration will be desirable but is not essential.
* Has a thorough understanding of plant operations, process technologies, supply and product logistics, business drivers, cost drivers, and feedstock sensitivities.
* Experience in process design review, construction, commissioning, and testing activities for new shale gas facilities.
