Leader in Cancer Nursing
The University of Technology Sydney is seeking a Conjoint Professor of Cancer Nursing to provide leadership in the field of cancer nursing.
This influential role will involve leading the development of collaborative, interdisciplinary education initiatives that strengthen cancer nursing across the university and healthcare settings. The incumbent will build capacity through integrated education, practice development, and mentoring, supporting students and clinicians alike. They will champion high-quality, translational nursing and multidisciplinary research that drives improvements in clinical practice across inpatient and community settings. Additionally, they will engage with clinicians, government, consumers, and carers to address key practice challenges and ensure cancer nursing services are empowered by a collegial, supportive, and high-performing culture.
To be successful in this role, you will require a strong record of engagement and influence at both national and international levels through your involvement in cancer nursing or multidisciplinary professional organisations. You will also need proven senior leadership experience in complex healthcare environments, expertise in practice development, workforce capability, and strategic service delivery. Your deep understanding of clinical practice and evolving models of care must enable you to lead with insight, inspiring and motivating others to achieve excellence. Furthermore, you will have a demonstrated ability to identify and incorporate emerging trends in nursing, and a passion for advancing the profession through innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
The position requires:
* A PhD in cancer nursing or a related discipline
* Evidence of current nursing registration with AHPRA
* Strong research and publication track record and ability to secure competitive research grants
* Experience in higher education teaching
