About the role:
The Business Development Manager is a full-time role reporting to the General Manager of Gainwell Engineering Pacific.
This position will play a key role in driving new equipment sales and supporting the continued growth and rebuilding of the business across the Australian market. The successful candidate will focus on developing strong customer relationships, identifying new opportunities, and supporting customers with equipment solutions that enhance operational productivity.
This role involves regular travel across the state, with around 50% of time spent visiting customers.
This position is well-suited to someone with strong industry knowledge and commercial capability who is motivated to build relationships, identify opportunities, and contribute to the continued growth of Gainwell Engineering in Australia.

* Build strong, trusted relationships with customers to understand operational needs and deliver effective equipment solutions.
* Conduct competitive analysis by gathering market intelligence and monitoring competitors’ activities and offerings.
* Leverage your industry network to identify new business opportunities and support sustainable growth.
* Support the preparation and coordination of tenders and commercial proposals.
* Own the customer order lifecycle, ensuring clear communication and coordination with internal teams to support timely order fulfilment and delivery.
* Strengthen Gainwell Engineering’s presence and reputation in the Australian market.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across the global Gainwell Engineering network, including teams in India, Singapore and the USA.
About you:
1. Experience within underground coal operations, including diesel equipment (Gainwell’s core market), Room & Pillar (a key growth area) or Highwall mining environments (Gainwell’s Unique Market).
2. Demonstrated experience in mining, manufacturing, OEM, underground equipment or heavy industry.
