Technical Sales Representative – Townsville
We're a well-established, growing wholesaler/distributor supporting customers across industry, engineering, manufacturing and automation. We're looking for a Technical Sales Representative in Townsville to grow our customer base and support existing accounts across North Queensland.
This is a practical, relationship-led role suited to someone with general automation exposure (PLC, HMI, drives, sensors, safety, SCADA, motion, networking, industrial comms, etc.) who enjoys being out with customers and helping solve real problems.
Position Overview
* Manage and grow customer relationships across Townsville and surrounding regions
* Identify opportunities, develop accounts, and win new business
* Provide technical guidance and product support (with backing from an experienced team)
* Work closely with internal teams on quoting, ordering and delivery
* Maintain a consistent pipeline and CRM discipline
Key Responsibilities
* Regular customer site visits with integrators, OEMs and end users
* Prospecting and account development across key industries in North QLD
* Prepare quotes, follow up opportunities, negotiate and close deals
* Support basic solution selection and coordinate deeper technical help when needed
* Stay organised with customer notes, pipeline updates and forecasting
Key Selection Criteria
* Experience in industrial automation sales or technical support (or strong product/application exposure)
* Comfortable discussing automation components and typical applications
* Strong relationship-building, communication and follow-up skills
* Self-motivated, organised, and confident working autonomously
* Customer-first mindset with commercial awareness
* Driver's licence and willingness to travel locally as required
