Site Engineer - Communications – Stryker – Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
Job Overview
As a Site Engineer, you'll be the final touchpoint in a hospital's journey to a fully integrated Operating Theatre. You'll manage onsite installations from end to end, ensuring every project runs smoothly, meets the highest quality standards, and exceeds customer expectations. This role is a fixed‑term position with the potential to grow into a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
Travel Monday to Friday (no weekends) across ANZ with a supportive, passionate team. Manage onsite installations, including:
* Lead the installation and commissioning of cutting‑edge integrated Operating Theatres
* Act as site manager – oversee drawings, pick up errors, manage trades, and ensure seamless execution
* Represent Stryker on‑site and maintain professional, positive customer interactions
* Review and manage project documentation, materials, and drawings with precision
* Manage contractors on site to ensure quality‑first delivery
* Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and hospital staff to ensure installation success
* Travel regularly across ANZ, with most projects running Monday‑Friday
* Receive full training and onboarding, including months of technical training in Sydney
Required Experience & Qualifications
* Experience working in technical, hands‑on environments (e.g., electrical, AV, or mechanical installation)
* Comfortable reading and reviewing technical drawings
* Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
* Proven ability to work independently on‑site and manage trades and timelines
* Excellent communication skills – able to interact with builders, hospital staff, and internal stakeholders
* Availability to travel Monday–Friday (ANZ‑wide)
* Confident managing installations solo, but also a team player who thrives with support
Preferred Experience
* AV installation or similar technical site work (e.g., TV mounting, electrical fit‑outs)
* Previous experience in healthcare or construction environments
* Site management or contractor coordination experience
