About the Role
We’re looking for a Gardener Assistant to join our team. This role is hands-on and ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, learning new skills, and helping to keep gardens looking their best.
You’ll work closely with our gardeners, assisting with a wide range of gardening and general property maintenance tasks.
Your day will include:
- Travelling to multiple strata sites around Ryde, Parramatta and Sydney surrounds
- Assisting with gardening tasks such as mowing, hedging, pruning, planting, turf care, and weeding
- Helping to keep common property areas clean and tidy (vacuuming stairwells with a backpack vac, sweeping, mopping, window cleaning)
- Operating and maintaining equipment safely (mowers, blowers, hedgers, trimmers)
- Supporting the team to complete jobs efficiently and to a high standard
- Taking pride in your work and representing our business in a friendly, skilled manner
- This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 7 am – ~3 pm, with the possibility of overtime. Flexible options are available (e.g., working through lunch for school pick-ups), in line with Fair Work allowances.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day gardening tasks under guidance of the team leader
- Carry out basic lawn and garden care: mowing, edging, hedging, pruning, mulching, watering
- Operate garden equipment safely and keep it clean and in good working order
- Help with common property cleaning: sweeping, vacuuming stairwells, mopping, wiping down glass and surfaces
- Maintain tidy and safe outdoor areas for residents
- What You’ll Need
- A valid Australian manual driver’s licence
- Previous gardening, landscaping, or horticulture experience (preferred but not essential)
- Physically fit and comfortable with outdoor/manual work (e.g., using backpack vacuums, trimming, mowing)
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
- A professional, presentable approach as you’ll be representing us on strata sites
- Full working rights in Australia
