**Employment Opportunity** 
The National Security Information Branch supports the Attorney-General to oversee legal issues and frameworks in relation to national security to ensure they operate in a manner which at all times respects the rule of law. This includes providing policy advice, instructing on casework, and administering legislation to support the protection of national security information and other sensitive information held by government. We also support the Attorney-General and Secretary (the head of the department) to engage on and influence national security issues more broadly. We are looking for Executive Level 1 officers to work on delivering our key priorities, including: 
**Secrecy Provisions Review and legislative reform** - the Branch leading a review of secrecy provisions across Commonwealth laws, including a final report to Government, and anticipated implementation of legislative reforms arising from the review.
**Influencing national security policy and outcomes** - the Branch supports the Attorney-Generals and Secretarys engagement in national security fora (including the National Security Committee of Cabinet and Secretaries Committee on National Security) and leads and coordinates implementation of key national security projects for the department.
**Litigation involving national security information** - the Branch supports the Attorney-General as the applicant in legal proceedings involving the National Security Information (Criminal and Civil Proceedings) Act 2004.
**Review of the National Security Information Act** - the Branch is engaging with the Independent National Security Legislation Monitors review, and will have responsibility for progressing any Governments response and subsequent reforms to the NSI Act.
This process may also be used to develop a merit list for the Security and Counter Terrorism Policy Division. In addition to the National Security Information Branch, the Division includes the Security Law and Policy Branch and the High-Risk Terrorist Offenders Branch.
