This is a part time vacancy available for 0.6 (23 hrs) per week.
Bring your professional expertise in Ophthalmology to the team at Royal Darwin Hospital and contribute to postgraduate education and supervision.
Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospital is the principal tertiary hospital within the region and provides a broad range of referral services in all specialist areas to Darwin, the Top End of the NT, Western Australia and South-East Asia.
Currently, the Royal Darwin Hospital is recruiting anOphthalmology Specialist Clinicianstarting January ****.
Under the direction of Dr Nishantha Wijesinghe, a senior ophthalmology consultant and highly skilled cataract surgeon, you will conduct regular outpatient clinics and theatre sessions, provide care and advice on the management of patients, and participate in specialist outreach services to regional hospitals and remote communities.
Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of ophthalmologists with special interests in medical retina, uveitis, paediatrics, and oculoplastic, you will ensure effective coordination and ongoing development of services and implement innovative models of care.
You will also have the opportunity to participate in continuous medical education including undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, professional development, peer review, research, and quality improvement activities and clinical audits.
To be successful you require eligibility for appropriate registration with the Medical Board of Australia, a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists, and demonstrated experience and expertise in providing ophthalmology services.
