ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Control Systems Engineer to take on a leadership role while remaining actively involved in technical delivery. Working closely with the business owner, you will manage a small team of engineers, oversee projects and help expand the company's capabilities.
It is a position that blends technical expertise with people leadership. You will be driving the development, implementation and support of control and automation systems while mentoring your team and shaping how the engineering function grows over time.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Lead, mentor and develop a team of control systems engineers
* Design, program and commission PLC and SCADA systems for industrial applications
* Manage multiple projects from planning to completion, ensuring quality and deadlines are met
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing expert advice and solutions
* Support urgent breakdowns and troubleshoot control system issues when required
* Identify and implement improvements to processes and project delivery
* Contribute to proposals, estimates and technical documentation
ABOUT YOU
* Degree or trade qualification in electrical, mechatronics or control systems engineering (or similar)
* Extensive experience in a senior or lead control systems engineering role within mining or heavy industry
* Strong skills in programming and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley PLCs and Citect SCADA (or equivalent)
* Confident leading teams while remaining hands-on with technical work
* Practical, proactive and motivated to help grow a business
