Overview
Are you a fantastic disability support worker? We’re looking for staff who are passionate about making a real difference in someone's life and are experienced and confident supporting people with Autism and Behaviours of Concern. We have multiple clients located across the eastern suburbs of Melbourne with expanding rosters, and we are seeking dedicated individuals to join our close-knit support teams. Successful applicants will be able to commit to regular ongoing shifts and be reliable and punctual.
Roster and Availability
- Shifts include weekday, evening and weekend availability
- Ability and reliability to commit to regular ongoing shifts
- Flexibility to fill in shifts for staff leave and pick up extra shifts
To do a great job, you’ll need
- Minimum three years’ experience supporting people with behaviours of concern (BOC)
- Experience working with people with Autism
- Experience supporting people with high physical support needs
- Understanding of trauma-informed care
- Ability to problem-solve and think outside the box
- Observant to the finer details; detail-oriented
- Well-organised and thoughtful, including supporting clients to plan for significant events
- Comfortable forming a genuine bond with the client
- Exuberant and engaging, with a mature outlook on life
- Enjoy outdoor activities and can be a positive role model
- Independent and competent with life skills such as laundry and household chores
- Ability to follow documentation protocols
- Full driver’s licence and willingness to drive clients in your own car and in clients\' cars/vans
