Executive Manager - CommSec Reporting and Analysis
Business Banking (BB) is a significant division within the Commonwealth Bank Group (CBA). CommSec is a key client facing business within BB. It is Australia's leading online retail stockbroker offering an integrated cash solution and margin lending, operating out of a regulated entity, Commonwealth Securities Limited, and the Commonwealth Bank.
BB Finance is a divisional finance team within the Financial Services division. BB Finance is a team where we prioritise a supportive and inclusive setting, offering flexibility, career development and continuous learning, alongside a commitment to achieve outstanding results.
This role leads a team of five Finance professionals, who partner with the CommSec business by providing a full range of Finance expertise and services to help the team deliver on their ambitious strategy. This role also has end‐to‐end responsibility for all Finance aspects of the CommSec legal entity.
This role reports to the General Manager Finance – EBB and CommSec.
Key Responsibilities
- Strong collaboration with colleagues to deliver outcomes for CommSec and BB Finance.
- Delivering monthly reporting requirements to multiple stakeholders.
- Identifying performance optimisation and efficiency opportunities.
- Participating in a proactive risk based culture.
- Providing meaningful performance insights for the business whilst driving continuous process improvement, achieving an effective governance and control environment, and reporting function.
Key Areas of Impact & Contribution
- Impactful leadership that fosters collaboration, connection, innovation, learning and development.
- Delivery of timely, accurate and insightful reporting for the CommSec business.
- Performance of ad-hoc analytics to deliver business-focused insights to drive timely decision-making and favourable customer and business outcomes.
- Supporting the delivery of a robust financial control environment, with a proactive and transparent approach to risk.
- Identify and facilitate process improvement initiatives to enhance the control environment and improve the efficiency of operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree qualified (Business or Finance) with 10 years post‐graduate experience.
- Accounting qualification – CPA or CA.
- Financial services experience preferred.
- Excellent people management skills and experience.
- Experience across a broad range of finance disciplines (financial control, management accounting, regulatory reporting, technical accounting).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience in managing senior stakeholders.
- Commercial awareness, analytical ability and experience.
- Excellent financial control experience.
- High degree of problem solving and analytical ability with close attention to detail.
- Relevant financial services, stockbroking or wealth management industry experience (10 years post qualified experience).
- Risk mindset – Proactive identification, understanding, discussion and action on current and future risks.
