Permanent Position - Process Operator (Boiler Assistant) Job VacancyApplications are being sought for a Boiler Assistant at Invicta Mill in the Burdekin Region. This position is responsible for the monitoring, operation and cleaning of the superheated boilers and the ash handling systems and associated equipment, under the direction of the Boiler Operator. It is a requirement that work is undertaken to specified standards and in a safe and efficient manner. This is a rotating 12hr shift position for approximately 10 months of the year, due to our Cogeneration Operations following the end of the cane-crushing season. The ideal candidate will have a willingness to further develop their current skills and qualifications and attain an Advanced Boiler Operator (BA) HRWL and participate in the role share duties with the Rostered Boiler Operator.Main duties include but are not limited to:Demonstrate knowledge of general quality control standards and procedures and is responsible for the quality of their own workCarry out directions of and work in conjunction with the Boiler Operator and Operations CoordinatorStarts and stops turbines and auxiliary equipment as requiredManage the bagasse, fly ash and feedwater systemsMaintain and carry-out housekeeping standards throughout stationTake readings of boiler instruments as required and complete all required logbooksCarry out maintenance tasks and other directions within the responsibility area as requiredPerform other duties as requiredWorking shift work during the crushing and Cogen seasonEnsure permits to work, risk assessments and job safety analysis are conducted for all work undertakenFulfil their obligations with regard to WH&S Act, policies, procedures, standard practices and conditions as outlined in the employee handbookRequired Criteria:High Risk Work Licence for Turbine Operator (TO)Confined SpaceWorking at HeightsApplicants with the following attributes will be highly regarded:High Risk Work Licence for Advanced Boiler Operator (BA)Process control experienceExperience working under a continuous shift rosterSteam Plant operating experience.Additional year round skills - Trade Qualification etc.A commitment to continuous improvement including safety and environment.Excellent problem solving skills and work in a team environmentTake responsibility for following work instructions and providing continuous improvement feedbackThe RewardsAt Wilmar you will be part of a team that values you and what you have to offer.
