**Job Description**:
We are seeking an experienced Product Design Director to drive product design quality, practice, and outcomes that meet business and user goals as well as create new differentiated offerings.
In this role you will lead and inspire project teams to create visionary design solutions, and demonstrate Fjord values through words and actions. You will be responsible and accountable for design quality and relationship growth within one or more key accounts.
**Responsibilities**:
- Promote and drive design quality, leading practices, and developing offerings that meet business and user goals, as well as create current offerings within Fjord.
- Drive new business development efforts by identifying opportunities, translating requirements, forming a differentiated POV, and leading teams to develop compelling pitch materials and client meetings.
- Deeply understand the market, local and global trends, and can speak to clients about our POV, craft and capabilities - and significant design trends.
- Own craft and capability output across key projects, ensuring each project deliverable is of the highest quality.
- Assess performance and provide career guidance and performance decisions for members of the studio Design team.
- Provide directional oversight of individual project team's work and assume overall accountability for success.
- Proven skill as a trusted leader, mentor, and active producer of thought leadership content.
- Be an ambassador, building culture, attending and planning studio and community events, workshops, and conferences.
Minimum Experience
- 10+ years experience managing and designing digital products for a range of users, business problems and touchpoints
- 5+ years experience in a design leadership and management role
- 5+ year of experience planning, designing, facilitating, and synthesizing workshops
- Demonstrated experience in leading multiple cross-discipline teams
- Fluency with tools such as Figma, Sketch, Invision, Miro, Mural and Adobe CS
- Addicted to staying ahead of design best practices, development and trends in web, mobile and app design
Preferred Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related field
- Understanding of areas of specialization within the wider design landscape, including but not limited to: Design Research; Visual Design; Interaction Design; Service Design; and Content Design
- Experience working in cross-functional product development squads
