Applications are sought from suitably qualified medical professional with previous medical assessment and clinical management experience to work in the Emergency Department at Echuca Regional Health.
Key responsibilities include:
3. The appropriate and efficient assessment and treatment of patients presenting to the Emergency Department, according to triage categories and guidelines
4. Supervision and teaching of more junior medical staff as well as nursing staff
5. Communication with referring Medical Practitioners regarding patient care, both at the time of assessment and following discharge
6. Liaison with Nursing Staff, VMOs, SMOs, Consultants in pursuing a high standard of care and efficient use of available resources; and ensure the appropriate continuity of care
7. Involvement in Echuca Regional Health education programs
8. Other reasonable duties as specified by the Director
9. Member of Code Blue and MET Call team as per Code Blue and MET Call policy and procedure.
10. Attend regular meetings with the Director of Emergency Medicine or delegate.
11. Maintain a log book of patients assessed/procedures performed in the Emergency Department.
Our team requires someone who has:
12. Qualifications in MBBS
13. General Registration with AHPRA
14. Proven experience as a in the medical assessment and clinical management of patients
15. High-level awareness and evidence of on-going professional development to continually update personal medical knowledge and skills
16. Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant legislation pertaining to Medical Officers
17. Strong leadership skills with the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
This position requires completion of a satisfactory National Police Check and (where relevant) provision of a Working With Children Check and check on the Disability Worker Exclusion Scheme prior to appointment.
