The role
Senior Technologist/Engineer – Mobile, Gateway and CDS
Solutions (EL1)
As the Senior Technologist/Engineer– Mobile, Gateway and CDS Solutions, you will possess
the requisite technical background, skills and experience to lead the
remediation/development and delivery of a range of specialist Secure Mobile, Gateway
and/or CDS solutions servicing a variety of operational and corporate technology areas in a
fast-paced and complex global environment.
This is a crucial role providing essential services to ASIS while working within highly
experienced teams. As a subject matter expert, you will lead the team, provide advice to
senior management and engage with internal and external stakeholders in the delivery of
next generation technologies. This role will include the opportunity for domestic and
overseas travel.
Technologists/Engineers – Mobile, Gateway and CDS Solutions
(Level 6)
The Technologists/Engineers - Mobile, Gateway and CDS Solutions will possess the requisite
background, skills and experience to support the remediation/development and ongoing
delivery of a range of specialist Secure Mobile, Gateway and/or CDS solutions for both
operational and corporate technology areas in a fast-paced and complex global
environment.
As the Technologist/Engineer you will support the development and delivery for mission
critical capabilities within a team environment. Your willingness to learn will be supported
with training and mentorship to further develop and grow your skills to achieve you career
aspirations.
Role responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES (EL1)
Under broad direction, the Senior Technologist/Engineer - Mobile, Gateway and CDS
Solutions will be responsible for the following key duties:
* Lead the development and support for mission critical capabilities within a team
environment.
* Engauge with internal, external and international partners in the delivery of next
generation technologies.

* Oversee the delivery and integration of specific vendor delivered capability
developments.
* Review, design, update and build documentation.
* Support and manage organisation priorities and objectives.
* Support Senior Infrastructure Engineers with technical design planning and
implementation.
* Provide subject matter expertise to team members and advice to senior
management and other staff in the development of new capabilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES (L6)
Under limited direction, the Technologists/Engineers – Mobile, Gateway and CDS Solutions
will be responsible for following key duties:
* Sustain, enhance and manage critical Mobile, Deployable, Gateway and CDS
infrastructure.
* Support the development and delivery for mission critical capabilities within a
team environment.
* Diagnose and resolve problems quickly and be able to communicate outcomes
with technical and non-technical users.
* Review, update and generate relevant technical and accreditation
documentation.
* Work with specialist vendors to transition new capability developments to
production.
* Be willing to learn new technologies and work collaboratively in a team
environment.
* Support senior engineers with design, build and test of network components.
* Assess, automate and simplify workloads.
Core skills
We are looking for knowledgeable IT professionals with a background/experience in a range
of ICT disciplines.
Senior Technologist/Engineer (EL1)
Experience in one or more of the following:
* Experience supporting and designing Gateway and High Assurance Gateway (CDS)
solutions.

* Experience in the development, delivery and support of secure enterprise mobile
access solutions.
* Experience supporting and designing network systems, using hardware such as
Cisco/Juniper routers, switches and firewalls.
* Cisco software defined environments (SDWAN), containerisation, hyper-converged
Datacentres, and global WANs.
* Knowledge of networking, telecommunications infrastructure, wireless
communication standards and associated security standards and considerations.
* Experience in deploying system monitoring, performance optimisation and process
improvements.
* Exposure / skills / experience in supporting internet and cloud-based technologies,
principles and environments.
Technologist/Engineer (Level 6)
Experience in one or more of the following:
* Experience in the delivery and/or support of Gateway and High Assurance Gateway
(CDS) solutions.
* Experience supporting network systems, using hardware such as Cisco/Juniper
routers, switches and firewalls.
* Experience with Gateway specific services such as Cube/Expressways, NiFi and/or
email proxy solutions.
* Knowledge of networking, telecommunications infrastructure, wireless
communication standards and associated security standards and considerations.
* Experience in deploying system monitoring, performance optimisation and process
improvements.
* Exposure / skills / experience in supporting internet and cloud-based technologies,
principles and environments.
Education and qualification requirements
The following education, qualifications and/or experience will be highly regarded:
Senior Technologist/Engineer (EL1)
* Experience in the delivery and implementation of Enterprise Gateway Systems
* Experience or Exposure to High Assurance Gateways (aka Cross Domain Systems)
* Exposure to High Assurance mobile access solutions.
* Exposure to networks using commercial and government grade cryptographic
equipment.

* Experience with contemporary SDWAN, Cisco or Palo Alto firewall technologies
* Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification or similar
Technologists/Engineers (Level 6)
* Experience in supporting Enterprise gateway services and systems.
* Exposure to High Assurance Gateways (aka Cross Domain Systems)
* Exposure to Enterprise Mobile access solutions.
* Exposure to networks using commercial and government grade cryptographic
equipment
* Exposure to contemporary SDWAN technologies
* Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or similar
