Role Overview
We are currently seeking dedicated and reliable Food Services Assistants (FSAs) for placements at aged care facilities. FSAs play a key role in supporting meal preparation, service, and kitchen hygiene. You will ensure residents receive safe, nutritious, and enjoyable meals while maintaining a clean and welcoming dining environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in plating and serving meals to residents based on individual dietary requirements
* Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks
* Deliver food trays to residents and assist with setup during mealtimes
* Clean and sanitise kitchen equipment, utensils, and dining areas
* Maintain accurate documentation such as food temperature logs and cleaning schedules
* Follow food safety, hygiene, and infection control protocols at all times
* Assist with stock rotation, unpacking deliveries, and general kitchen organisation
* Interact respectfully and compassionately with residents and staff
Essential Criteria
* Experience working in a food services or hospitality environment, preferably in aged care or healthcare
* Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (e.g., HACCP)
* Current Food Handling Certificate
* Fully COVID-19 vaccinated (including applicable boosters)
* Current Police Check (National or NDIS Screening Check)
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or under supervision
* Friendly and respectful attitude towards elderly and vulnerable people
Desirable Criteria
* Previous experience as a Food Services Assistant in an aged care facility
* Familiarity with modified diets and dietary needs of older adults
* Flexibility to work across different sites and shifts (AM/PM/weekends)

Pay: $32.00 – $70.00 per hour
