**About the Building Commission NSW**
Building Commission NSW has been established after the NSW Government recognised the substantial progress made by Fair Trading and the Office of the Building Commissioner in delivering once-in-a-generation reforms of the building and construction industry. The new commission will not only be the industry regulator, but also a collaborator with consumers and industry to ensure standards, capabilities, capacity and resilience continue to be lifted across the sector to deliver quality homes and meet the state’s housing targets.

The Policy team are responsible for driving the NSW Government’s building and housing reform agenda.
**Key responsibilities**
- Maintain stakeholder and customer relationships through effective communication, negotiation, and issues management to ensure project deliverables are met
- Review and maintain the project pipeline and review project documentation and provide support for future reforms.
- Support project tracking, ensuring compliance with governance and quality requirements
- Help deliver key assets and resources to support reforms, including subordinate regulatory materials
- Review and establish internal policy projects as required
- Liaise with internal teams to develop material to support policy reform documentation
- Research and develop materials to support policy reforms
- Continuously monitor and evaluate all aspects of project implementation, including risk and contingency management, perks realisation, project impact and quality measures, to identify and address issues, assess project progress and effectiveness, and achieve project outcomes - report back to manager if any project is at risk.
**Key challenges**
- Balancing competing demands to ensure objectives are achieved to the required standards and within budget
- Work closely with project teams to ensure on-going compliance with governance and reporting processes and practices.

- Strong verbal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to liaise and work with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver around competing priorities.
