Our client is a leading Forestry company in Australia with several hundred thousand hectares under their management. The key focus of the GIS Manager role is to upgrade, develop and implement the GIS capabilities in a technologically fast paced sector of the business to ensure that commercial outcomes are achieved. Identify innovation opportunities aligned to strategic objectives and promote their rapid introduction and integration into business operations.
**Duties**:
- Ensure company GIS is designed and maintained to meet current and forecast future company requirements;
- Implement GIS tools, workflows and associated systems with a focus on simplification, standardisation, reducing risk, maximising mobility, and streamlined business reporting;
- Drive processes to improve the utility of GIS and related systems in the field, including training and support;
- Develop, implement and maintain internal documentation on the use of spatial information;
- Manage the exchange and sharing of spatial information between internal departments and external agencies.
- Leading a small team of 4 you will provide authentic leadership by encouraging diversity, inclusion and belonging whilst fostering accountability and high performance within your team.
- The base location for this role is negotiable in SE QLD.
The successful applicant will have:
- An undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in Geospatial Science, Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing, Information Technology, Engineering, Forestry, Environmental Science or a related discipline; and
- Significant experience with the ArcGIS suite including Enterprise, Pro, Online, Field Maps, Survey123, Portal, and Image Server. Desirable: experience with Geocortex Essentials.
- Experience with Python and JavaScript. Desirable: experience with ESRI JavaScript API, R and ASP.NET
